Tekran® is an international leader in environmental measurement technology, serving the needs of industry, government and research institutions with applications ranging from pure research to primary manufacturing. We revolutionized continuous mercury monitoring through the use of cold vapor atomic fluorescence spectrophotometry and pure gold preconcentration. Tekran’s systems for ultra-trace measurement of mercury in ambient air, stack emissions and environmental samples are extraordinarily sensitive and robust with detection limits of less than 1 picogram absolute and practical immunity to interfering compounds.

The Tekran Model NG-80 Mercury Monitor is designed for automated analysis of natural gas streams. The system contains an atomic fluorescence detector, dual stage thermal desorption, with digital data acquisition and control systems. The system complies fully with ASTM-D6350 and ISO 6978 methods with built-in automated QA/QC method protocols. This integrated solution uses specialized sampling components built by our industry partner. The analyzer is encased in a purge cabinet for safe operation in hazardous environments. Options are available for analysis of mercury in liquified natural gas (LNG) sample streams with the addition of a vaporizer.

Tekran’s® ambient air instruments have been used on every ocean and continent, even Antarctica. The Tekran® Model 2537 Ambient Air Mercury Monitor was the first product developed by Tekran® and remains a driving force of innovation. The Model 2537 is the only analyzer available that is capable of automated, continuous, unattended atmospheric mercury speciation. Our instruments produce high-resolution, accurate data that continues to advance the understanding of mercury cycling in the environment. Tekran® ambient air analyzers have been chosen by monitoring networks in the USA (NADP-AMNet), Canada (CAPMoN), Europe (EMEP) and in many other countries such as Korea, China, Germany, Poland and South Africa, to name but a few. As a testament to our excellence, our analyzers have set the standard for ambient air monitoring with hundreds of installations throughout the globe.

TEKRAN 2537X

The Tekran® Mercury CEM (HgCEM) Systems are currently operating at over 130 sources to comply with strict US EPA regulations. In addition, there are numerous installations in Asia and Europe. For every installation, we have met and exceeded all performance requirements for our customer’s state and federal regulations.

Tekran® 3400 for International Customers

The Series 3400 is designed to measure total gaseous mercury emissions, with optional components to measure total, elemental and ionic mercury in virtually any combustion source, with NIST traceability. The system is sensitive enough to measure levels at any coal fired power plant and is immune to the interferences that plague conventional mercury CEMs.

The Tekran® laboratory product line is specifically designed to meet the rigorous demands of the modern day analytical laboratory. Built around the ultra sensitive cold vapor atomic fluorescence spectrophotometer (CVAFS) detector, our instrumentation offers the lowest detection limits available that surpass the requirements of ultra-trace methodologies such as EPA methods 1630 and 1631.

Methyl Mercury Analysis System

The Tekran® 2700 Methyl Mercury Analysis System offers an automated solution for complex and time consuming manual techniques. The 2700 is a fully-integrated gas chromatography cold-vapor atomic fluorescence spectrophotometer (GC-CVAFS). The 2700 can analyze distilled waters, extracted or distilled tissues and solids, and allows direct analysis of suitable water samples (MDL=0.002 ng/L).

Automated Total Mercury Analyzer

The Tekran® 2600 Automated Total Mercury Analyzer allows analysis of a wide range of environmental matrices. The instrument has a modular design with unique “Top Deck” components allowing fast user switching between analytical methods such as EPA 1631, EPA 245.7, and EPA IO-5. The Tekran® 2600 utilizes a CVAFS detector capable of measuring sub-picogram quantities of mercury.

Manual Ambient Air Analyzer

The Tekran® 2600-IO5 system provides a manual approach to ambient air analysis or other non-flammable gasses. Samples are collected onto gold-coated quartz traps, and then analyzed on the 2600-IO5 instrument to determine Hg content.

The MerPAS® Passive Air Sampler is the newest Tekran® sampling solution developed to provide our customers a simple device for measuring mercury in a wide range of environments. The sampler can be configured to sample either background ambient air or highly-contaminated industrial locations. Since collection is passive, MerPAS® sampling is completely power-free allowing easy deployment in a wide array of locations.

Based on the design developed by researchers at the University of Toronto, the MerPAS® sampler is the perfect sampling solution for locations not requiring high-resolution data, or for locations where greater spatial coverage is needed to complement a single location high resolution mercury monitor. After collection, the MerPAS® sampler is analyzed in a laboratory for Hg content using thermal or wet chemical techniques.
